Howdy all,

I'm getting a little tired of my '01 Wrangler Sahara and looking for something with an automatic top and a sportier feel. I live in Boston and drive daily so I need a semi-practical winter-capable car. Considered an Audi TT but they're expensive and tiny (strictly 2 seats), and the newer A4/S4 cabrios are more car than I'm willing to pay for (or park on city streets). OK! Anyway...

I'm looking in the 20k-30k range, which opens up many possibilities.

1. What about Viggens? I like the performance but am concerned about what appears to be a marginal reputation for quality/reliability compared to rest of 9-3s.

2. How would you rate the manual trannies in terms of ease-of-use? I'm the typical American raised on automatics who's never owned a stick, but am open to change. I figure if I want a performance car I should get a stick in it.

Anything else I should think about? I'm currently only looking at buying a certified car from a Saab dealer...
