Before I bought one of the first Saab 99,s in 1968, I read an article in one of the journals which had a red one on the cover, really looked sharp too. The journalist who wrote this article started the thread which exists today about Saabs. He stated that the placement of the key between the seats was "Quirky". Sure and his mother wore Army boots too. Saab has no way of controlling what people think about their cars. I suffered the slings and arrows for many years about my strange looking two strokes and V4. Who cares, I loved the cars. Didn't give a hoot what they thought. Don't be thin skinned -- not acceptable for a Saab owner! By the way, never met a pipe smoking, tweed jacketed professor yet who drives a Saab. What does the press know about cars anyway?
