Oldzmann ~

Thanks so much for your post. Like Matt's, it's filled with great information and advice. I really appreciate it! Nice choice of vehicle, too;-)

-Great work picking up the original VRK from Abbott at a low price. I assume it is treating you well. So you think the 2 pt. sfb isn't enough? That's good to know. I was definitely set on the clamp and brace for the steering rack, but was wondering about the sub frame brace. So you don't think going with 6 pt. brace will be overkill for a daily driver?

-Excellent to hear that you are happy with the 19mm rear sway seeing that you're also from the Great NW. I had gathered that the 22mm may be too much for our wet roads, so it's good to hear the 19mm has proved effective for you. Let me know your thoughts when you add front and/or rear strut tower bars. I've got 225-45-17 Kuhmo's on there right now, and they seem to be doing their job quite well. I'm not sure I know about the PCV update???? What's this?

-I'm at 30k right now and the shocks seem fine. That doesn't mean they couldn't be improved upon, however. I don't really feel a need or desire to lower the car much, if any at all. I am already taking speed bumps and driveway entrances like a granny to try and avoid scratching that bottom-feeding front spoiler! Please keep me updated on any shocks or springs you decide purchase.

-Great to hear you are enjoying MP's short shifter. It is quite inexpensive, and definitely an option I'm considering. I also heard that our '00 Viggens didn't come stock with the upgraded tranny fluid the later Viggens did. I am going to look into that.

-I, too, have been thinking an LSD would be wonderful on our vehicles. However, my plan is start out with the VRK and sub frame brace mods, and then see how much that still leaves me wanting for an LSD. It seems like it would be a wonderful upgrade!

-I'm hoping to take advantage of my proximity to ScanWest. They do seem to be quite excellent. I agree that after awhile I'll be longing for more power. When that comes time, I was thinking similarly to you...3" DP, IC upgrade, upgraded delivery pipe -- simple bolt-ons. All in time, however...I want to address that chassis first! Again, let me know if/when you do any of this.

-I had actually been thinking about Kappa's as a speaker upgrade! Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to start with the front dash speakers and work from there if needed.

-I have brand new front rotors and brakes on my Viggen. Former owner put them on right before I bought the vehicle. Thanks for the heads up on the units and lines from Group9, though. I'll be sure to keep that in the back of my mind. My wheels are original, but refinished in gunmetal. None bent yet, but I'm not looking forward to when that happens (because we all know it will,
right:-) Finally, my DI cassette was replaced by the former owner right before I bought the car. While he did this, I know it doesn't mean this new one won't go out on me. Smart to keep a spare. Thanks for the advice.

Again, all your help is appreciated oldzmann! You the man.

Nate
