The loose sub frame bolts is not a new phenomenon.

We have seen loose bolts and creaking subframes ever since the 9000 came out in 85, which was the first Saab model using a subframe.

Many and most bolts throughout the car, a seasoned technician gets a feel for what's needed in torque and only certain bolts and nuts are torqued exactly what the book says using a torque wrench (like main and connecting rod bearings and cylinder head bolts for example).

Like, we all know that 100% of the valve cover bolts are under torqued from factory beginning in around mid 90s when they went to Torx 40 bolt head instead of the 12mm hex head.

Those you need to torque more than the book says and they never come loose again. Still, I see many Saabs coming into the shop that has been serviced at the dealer for the first 30K miles and the bolts are still loose and the valve cover almost flopping in the wind.
