I posted a question about on-line dealers just a couple days ago, see the link below.

FYI - I think they are misleading you around a little. Parts managers can order parts on their "regular" order for little to no shipping charge. That's what they prefer to do. In the Northeast USA, that takes about 3 days to arrive. They can also order parts by, guess what, overnight shipping. That's what they do when a customer has a car in the shop and they need to turn it around in a couple days.

My local dealer irritates me just a little on this issue - if I need the part overnight, he makes me chip in for the fast delivery. For example, he wanted $5 on a $77 throttle cable I bought recently. I realize it costs them money to get it quicker, but they are already marking the item up 100% in price. And, if I was a service customer, they would charge me retail but there would be no extra charge for fast delivery of the parts. But, the Parts Managers are rewarded based on net revenue and he pinches every penny.
