First, it's $4500 total. I have already paid them $1500.

Thanks for the tips on the compression , etc. Now I'm feeling unsure again though. I mean sooner or later I'm going to have to trust they do the work right.

The warranty basically covers the parts "rebuilt" in the engine and has exclusions about driving it after over heating, etc. Now that is for 2 years and supposedly 24K miles. Also, I'll have the CC chargeback "hanging" over their heads for about 90 days on the remaining 3,000 dollars.

As for the tip about the parts. We've asked them that about 100x now. They just won't take any customer supplied parts and they won't match price either :( Getting the price from euro might help though. I'll try that tomorrow but I doubt they'll budge.

I'm going to ask them about the block since that is the part I feel I should NOT be paying extra for and they are INSISTING on it because of the fine print as it being an "core exchange" item. They dropped it only $100 to 525 for the block. Telling me it's a "hard to find" block.

They say among other things that all the piston rings , i think gaskets and a few other small items will be replaced regardless.
