OK, I goofed. These titles should all read throttle body transition casting. Not throttle body. The throttle body is not modified, only the casting that delivers the air to it.
I don't want anyone to start thinking of grinding the wrong parts.
There has been again some iterest in getting bored out throttle bodies. As you can see from these photos, the throttle body end is so large compared to the inside diameter of the transition casting, that a larger throttle body does not make sense. The transistion casting is the choke point, before and after modification. To get a bored out throttle body and use it with a stock transition casting would be totally insane.
This is a situation where you can improve the performance of you turbo charged engine with your own work. You can bolt on an Abbott ECU, or an external boost controller. But attention to details such as these make a big difference. Doing this work will bring out the lost potential of other modifications.
