I concur with your feelings on the 9-3 SE - I took a 00 SE lease last month, and constantly try to find reasons to drive the car, even if its to the store down the street. I have some issues - there is rattling in the roof in the morning commute (but not during the day when the car heats up), and in sport mode, I find sometimes that the tranny goes gear hunting while on inclines only. Other than that, what a joy to drive ! I, too, once owned a 94 Accord, and although it was a technical marvel, it was horribly dull to drive. This is my second Saab (first was a base 900 S 97) - hope to keep this one for a long time. After shopping around (Audi, BMW, etc.), I returned to Saab. There is just something about this car and this company that make it unique in a market of predominantly mainsteam ordinary cars.
Happy Saabing.
