I'd have to disagree a little bit with that.... Posted by ryan [Email] (#2222) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ryan) on Tue, 31 Dec 2013 09:36:01 In Reply to: Re: Get a Viggen!, none yet, Mon, 30 Dec 2013 18:21:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The Viggen was kind of a parts bin car, and thus many of its "specific" parts are actually shared with 9-5's and others, and are not too hard to find at all. Bodywork pieces will be the real truth in your statement though, because they are actually harder to come by, and generally pricey when you do (but between NOS, wrecking yards, and human effort you can replace or repair whatever you need). However, other Viggen consumable features like the improved drivetrain (clutch, axles, CV joints), brakes, are found NO PROBLEM. In addition, the clutch and brakes have a lot of aftermarket support (EBC, Spec, etc.). There are other parts that you should not need to replace, like the springs, and there is plenty of aftermarket for those, and I hear many will ride better than factory ones (in addition to looking better, IMO)
I have owned by Viggen for 5 years now and still love that car more than ever. They are well known to us, but it is so rewarding to run against another person that has no clue. I got two runs against an STI on an open road from a roll to 90 and the guy was blown away that we were in a dead heat the whole time!
