Yea, well, I mean now that I know the information...I figure it may put off a head gasket failure by some time. Not sure that I can do it during this time though. If I did, I would only bother with bolt 7 and 8.
Viggen's running great.
Valve cover gasket: You have to use high quality sealer. Just a line, on the outside of the channel where the gasket goes in (that way it has less of a chance of getting into the engine. I let the gasket sit on the sealer overnight.
I tried a 'wise' idea that failed, for me. I put the gasket in place on the valve cover and then tried to hold it in place in various locations around the it with dental floss so that when I'd put it in place, I could cut the floss and pull it out. Turned out this was harder than I thought....The gasket stayed when I turned the valve cover but as I went to put it in, some of the half moons got pulled and stretched the floss causing the gasket to start to fall out. Though I did get the valve cover on successfully, almost, I noticed in some parts the gasket was pinching. Too much of a risk.
Might actually be possible with more time and effort and would allow one not not have to use sealer (not sure what they used from the factory, didn't seem like it had anything).
