The car is 15 years old now , so time and heat have taken its toll on plastic , electrical and rubber bits.
You will need a CPS , a Neutral safety switch, a throttle body, a serpentine belt , pully and tensioner. A Starter , an alternator , control arm bushings , all fluids changed. A DI cassette , a MAF. Also Vacuum hoses , strut bearings , shocks , struts. Not right away but you need to plan a systematic replacement program for those items they are going to be needed. The pan should be dropped for inspection and a PCV# 6 kit installed .
After that you have a great vehicle very smooth and refined and a nice evolution of the Saab H motor .
The automatic is very durable and reliable but you should change the ATF every 30K minimum . Having come from a 9000 Aero it is a very different car but still in my opinion very much a SAAB , it was penned by Bjorn Envall regardless of Chassis from GM Opel . It's the sort of care that becomes a bit of a hobby .
