Nissens radiator drain plug removal Posted by SPG Jr [Email] (#1830) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SPG Jr) on Fri, 12 Apr 2019 05:59:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The plastic drain plug in my new, uninstalled Nissens radiator has a spade rather than a socket head. I am able to turn it only 180 degrees by hand. This doesn’t seem to be enough to remove it. Anyone encounter this, and should I put a wrench on it for encouragement? If I can get it out, I’m going to take the opportunity to replace it with the Volvo plug (with hose adaptor) that has been posted on this board, for easier draining. If removing is a pain now, it will be impossible when installed. (I’ve run out of obscenities for use when wrestling with the lower hose)
