I do this!
unbolt the cooler lines on the filter stand and {carefully!} blow some compressed air thru until most of the dirty oil is expelled. Sometimes even run a can of Lube Guard KoolerKleen flush thru there for extra measure.
One thing for sure. You'll notice that your oil does not get dirty nearly as fast.
First few times you do this on a higher mileage engine there is a lot of sludge build-up that comes out.
I also do this on customer cars after major repairs (I.E; turbocharger replacement, oil pan removal, cylinder head gasket replacement, etc...) kind of an added service to the already needed oil & filter change.
