Not driven for over 3 years Posted by Chip Fichot [Email] (#2597) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Chip Fichot) on Wed, 9 Oct 2019 10:20:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am considering at least looking at a 2001 9-3 that is posted in the classifieds here because it is in my area and the price is too good to ignore for such a low mile Saab.
The ad (link below) says that it hasn’t been driven for over 3 years but has been garaged for its entire life. Also says that the battery is dead and there’s a flat tire.
Tire is easy to deal with; if the battery were jumped or replaced, would there need to be any reprogramming done to get it to start?
Aside from needing fluid changes and possible dry rot (I imagine the tires would almost definitely need to be replaced) what downsides/pitfalls would there be to watch out for due to it sitting for so long?
Any other advice/pointers?
TIA
