What you describe is kind of what it sounds like when the low speed resistor is not functioning properly. So it is important to establish if your temp is above 100°C and the low speed relay is not engaged and if so why. Maybe wrong relay installed, DICE problems? Just to name a few.

In today's world when you can get a full fledged Tech 2 scan tool for less than $300.00 and a cheap code/live data reader for about $30.00 it is something to consider when you do your own work.

This little Autel319 reader is pretty good in giving you the essential data.
