Front window track/roller question

So upon rolling down my front window there was a loud pop and the glass came loose from the mechanism and fell down. I am replacing the rollers and finding that upon sliding the old rollers (one was broken) out of the track on the glass and also sliding the replacement ones in, that there are very tight spots along the channel where the rollers almost seize up. They take a considerable push to get past these tight points. There is no debris or other obvious obstruction in the track, so it's as if the track is getting tighter in areas. This couldn't be by design right?
I don't want to put it back together like this, it seems like I'm going just break the rollers again, or worse, something more expensive. This is the 2nd time doing this too, it happened a couple years ago, but at the time I just swapped in new rollers and moved on with life. Now I'm thinking there is something bigger going on.
Thanks!
Ryan
