Update on tracing source of electric trunk lock failure.
Stopped dead for now.
Hooked 12v test lamp to 2 wire plug removed from OEM Saab motor. Lamp did not light when key pushed to unlock trunk (truck open during test). Button in drivers door produced same result.
Removed motor which looked OK and likely was original, stamped "99". Applied 12vdc, nothing.
I'm assuming the motor required 12 volts but I'm not positive. I don't presently have a spare motor.
Questions: where else can I test the YE BU and BK motor leads?
Is the motor in fact 12 volt?
Facia under dash has all fasteners removed but appears held in place by black plastic bracket along forward edge close to firewall. How to remove that bracket?
Does all this suggest the relay is the likely culprit?
Thanks for any ides
