Regarding your response about mounting the CD changer in the trunk. I assume you mounted the changer on the left side per the cable exit? Did you encounter any problems regarding the dashboard instruments? Because I re-mounted the exact changer to the left side and my Fuel gauge does not register any more. There are lot of wires going through the left side of the trunk space and it was suggested that I may have nicked and/or cut one. However, I have looked and it appears that is not the case.
