Stiff drivers side key lock

I guess this will only apply to pre-95 model NG900s - those of us who need keys to lock our vehicles.
The key has become very stiff when turned all the way to the horizontal in the lock ie to set the alarm and deadlock function. So stiff it feels like the key will break sometimes. It's fine turning to the first position that just locks the doors.
Is there a quick fix without taking the whole door and lock apart? I've squirted some WD40 inside but it's made no difference.
If I do disassemble (Haynes gives comprehensive info) where do I grease to cure the problem?
Thanks in advance guys
