I should be writing directly to SAAB telling them that they have made a terrible mistake not giving us all shop manual CDROMS for free. I should give them the chance to give us the intellectual property before I violate the copyright laws. In the mean time, I think I will sign up for AllData.com, as advised.

I will say again that the product is the car. The CD can indeed raise revenue but it should not. It's almost immoral to charge for it! Some poor guy has a flawed car and now has to pay $250 to the people that sold him the flawed car, just to find out what's wrong. The competition, the ones you'd want to keep from having this intellectual property, Volvo frinstance, they have a copy, I bet.

Your personal job situation is diff I think. Also for songsters on Napster. As an engineer, your product is the source code, and you should be protected.
