[yet another]idea for aux input - feedback appreciated.

The last generation 9000 series has a digital CBUS switching box that is used to connect both Clarion CD changer and Single CD player to the head unit.
When the CD changer is selected, the disc and track number and time are displayed in the radio head unit.
When the Single CD changer is activated, the word AUX is shown on the head unit display, and time and track info are shown on the Single CD player. As soon as the CD changer is stopped, the radio head resumes normal operation.
The question is, does this CBUS switching box have a similar effect on the 900 radio head unit? Perhaps this AUX mode in the head unit, is part of the CBUS standard used on all Clarion radios. If it does work, it is conceivable that it would be a fairly simple process to simulate the process (when pin X is grounded on the CBUS connector, AUX mode is selected, and head unit takes L/R signal from the secondary input on the switch box). Since it seems that no other digital data is passed over the CBUS such as track time, disc # etc. when the single CD changer is selected, it seems likely to be a simple issue as I have described.
I've got Sirius installed in my NG900 but through an FM modulator - and while OK, the quality isn't quite what I want it to be....hence my interest in this.
I have access to a 1995 9000 with single CD setup, including the switching box, and if I have time, I'll see if I can hook it up. The 9K isn't mine, so I'm reluctant to remove the audio components to satisfy my curiosity, if others have thoughts about this already.
