Hey,

I have had some problems with my convertible top. Last fall it started making some interesting noises like gears crunching. The tonneau cover would lift fine, but when the rear window section lifts inward it stopped. In order to reverse the motion (put top back down). I had to turn the car off and on the reset the motion. This process had to be repeated every several minutes until the top was closed.

I finally took to the dealer who said that the tonneau motor must be replaced. Dealer part = 1,800. Reman through dealer = 1,200.

Any help?? If I can't do myself, I have a local garage that can install. But the part cost will kill me!!

Lastly, the ragtop is in great condition except the stitching around the rear glass window is coming open. Can someone in apolstry, etc. restitch?

Anyone's help or experiences would be GREATLY appreciated!!
