If they were, they would have killed off the Buick marque and kept Oldsmobile. Since announcing the demise of Olds (now complete) GM managed to rebadge every Olds product into a Buick, other than the best two Olds cars. The best Oldsmobiles, Aurora and Intrigue, were simply wiped out completely - but only after they eviscerated the Aurora by selling it with a gutless 6-cylinder. The supercharged Intrigue was a rocket ship on wheels and widely considered by major car magazines to be the best GM product, (excluding Saabs of course), so naturally it had to die.

Now I see they (we) are selling Trailblazers with V8 engines after announcing to the world that only Buick and Saab versions of the mid-sized SUV's would get this engine. They are also planning to sell a GMC badged car!!!

Apparently GMC will receive a new Sport Wagon in 2008 and not Pontiac, since GMC has met all sales forecasts. GMC has not sold a "car" since the Cabalero (clone of the El Camino) in the late '70's, but who remembers that vehhicle except me. Besides, the only reason GMC even exists as a brand is to allow Pontiac Dealers to sell trucks. The same people who are being "punished" by movement of a new product to a different brand badge are the same ones who will be selling the new product! Talk about sh** for brains!! Can anyone explain how a car fits into the "Professional grade trucks" advertising campaign?

Don't even get me started on the fact that this product is 5 years too late in the market, much like the SSR joke. Too expensive, too heavy, too slow, too cramped, and too late. Sorry to vent this much, but this company I work for has completely lost their direction. Anyone know of a good job in Facilities or Construction Management?
