I bought one from the TSN classifieds that was in another state. Drove down one day to check it out, test-drive it, etc. Made the decision later, got VIN from guy, gave that to insurance co for a binder, brought binder to credit union, got check. Overnighted check to Saab USA to pay off the guy's loan, they're sending him the title. Arranged to meet guy halfway for pickup, each of us brough a buddy. We all signed a "Bill of Sale" he whipped up. Having a nice long drive home is a great way to be "introduced" to your new car! I'm riding on his plates until he gets the title and signs it and mails it to me, then I'll register here, get my temp plates, and mail him his plates back.

Actually, it was incredibly easy. I'm pretty naive at this stuff but I chatted with the bank, insurance co and DMV and sorted it all out in my head, and pulled it off in a few days. I'm also ultimately swapping plates between my two cars since my SPG has a vanity plate I want on the Viggen (selling the SPG).
