These are the same issues that Bob struggles with, and I think you've articulated his problems very well. Indeed, Bob could get the TV now and enjoy it, but he knows that in 2 years, there will be better TV's. But, in 2 years, would he want to hold out for an even better TV?

Bob better not get consumed with it...if so, any pleasure that could be gained by the TV would be so riddled with guilt that it would hardly be worth it.

Bob likes black TV's, but Bob is leaning towards the middle ground - that Big Bacon Classic is looking mighty sweet. But this raises another question...will Bob be relegated to a life of mediocrity, where he's never treating himself out of fear? I suppose Bob should not be so turned on by TV's, but that's another issue.

Poor guy...I think I'll go take him a case of beer right now.
