So I bought an external hard drive, backed up my laptop, and restored the system. Boy is it nice starting from scratch again. This time, I'm using Mozilla Firefox unless I have to use IE. It's a great browser, like a combo of Netscape 7.2 and MS IE. I encourage others to make the change; it was painless. By the way, I'm running Service Pack 2 and have had no issues.

I just want to thank all of you that offered the advice. It was helpful, and now I have an easy way to back up my files ($70 (with rebates) for 80 GB).

Just one question, if spyware files are on the external drive, can they "jump" to the C: drive and cause any issues?
