Alt's are known weak spots in NG's I am on #3.
Valve gaskets must endure some pretty high temps, under a saab hood or not-it is a wear item.
A/C-well, there is switch that will not allow the ac compressor if the freon level is too low, or shall I say pressure switch. I guess an a/c compressor can go, but it seems there can be alot that can stop the a/c from working. Do you have ACC/calibrated /tested? or have you any ests. that state the compressor is no good?
Trans mount-well, another wear item. Maybe not at your milage-but aren't you glad is was discovered? Mounts can reak havoc on shifting/axles/ ect.
Last but not least, it is a CAR. Stuff wears out. I say maybe 400-500 for the alt, but what were the totals of each repair made on your car?
1) "Well maintained Saabs will bring years of enjoyment"
Over time, you will forget when you travel cross country, have to accelerate to avoid being killed or injured, have to lug home stuff not made to fit in a normal car. Maybe the car you bought was beat on-did it have any service records? Are you going to your local saab dealer?
thanks,
Kevin O
