Partial loss of vision

ok this is the second time this has happened to me so I am getting kind of nervous. I was working at my desk today and the upper left 10% or so of my vision started to go. It didn't dissaper, it looks like an arc on the left side of my vision that is twirling red, green and blue. Almost like the rods or cones or whatever in my eye aren't lined up properly. It's getting worse right as I type, I ma having a hard time seeing the screen. As i said, thi sis the seconed time this has happened (last time was probably 2-3 years ago.) Anyway, it lasted for about an hour last time and then went away. I didn't look at nay bright lites or antyhing, though, have never worked around welders or anything like that. It's just strange, and makes me kind of nervoius. My vision is pretty previous of course.
If I stretch my arm out and make a fist and move it to the left of where I ma looking, I completely cant even see it. I see my arm and then a blank spot. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe stress, or too much caffiene?
