I just got some parts from Saab City of Framingham, MA and discovered that their pricing is 20% to 30% ABOVE Saab suggested retail (as checked at genuinesaab.com ). I got one part at 20%, two parts at 22% and three parts at 30% above MSRP. I am wondering about how common is it for other Saab dealers to charge above MSRP?
About a month ago I also got a few parts from Central Saab in Norwood, MA and there were much better. All four kinds of parts were exactly at MSRP at their place. In future, I will be using them for my part needs.
What I particularly disliked about the Framingham dealer is that they have both "list" and "net" prices on the invoice, both the same. Their parts manager kept telling me that the "list" prices come directly from Saab and would be the same for all dealers.
I am also participating in Toyota Supra board, and there is a dealer there that offers 20% below the official Toyota list prices for anyone who just mentions the mailing list.
Also, I found a list of Saab dealer offering part discounts for members of Saab Club of North America ( http://www.saabclub.com/member_dealers.htm ). The discounts are up to 25% but I am not sure anymore that it is from the Saab msrp. It maybe just of that particular dealer "list" price. Did anyone try them?
