I got it on the net about 1 1/2 years ago for $347. It is very powerful(put your hand over the suction) and of high quality. The tube that comes out of it is long for getting different places. I love the fact that you never have to buy filters for it. There is a fine sponge that you rinse out with water every 6 months. The air going into the Hepa filter is so clean that the Hepa last for the life of the vacume. No other vac can do that! And hepa filters are expensive.

Just get the base model which is the yellow one and you can get tool accessories later if you want them. You get the basic 3 tools with the base model and they do great cleaning up cat hair and kid messes.

When I got mine there were 3 different vacumes, all different colors of the same vac but with additional accessories. I think they may have a new design which I havn't checked out so you should do some investigating. It might be even better. You can go into Best Buy and try it out in there store and then see how their prices compare. They were $400 back then and like I said I paid $347 on the net.

I needed a little plastic part on the bottom of vac which had a small crack in it and Dyson sent me a new one in 4 days with no questions asked. I didn't even fill out anything. They just took my word for it and sent it to me. Very good customer service.

I like the fact that Mr Dyson sued Hoover for stealing his technology and he beat Hoover in court!

I think it has a two year warranty.

Have fun.

Cheers, KB.
