Go hang in the yard during a look at the place and see how loud the traffic is. Go back at different times of the day and see, too, especially at commute hours and in the evenings--weekends too! Call the town and see if you can get a recent traffic count on the road.
Traffic noise can behard to ignore, especially the motorcycles. And if it is an intersection you get everyone slowing, accelerating, sitting & waiting as well.
I wouldn't buy a house on a busy road. It makes it a bit harder to sell and the value may rise slower than it would in a house on a quieter street. Plus the noise can really get intrusive--and it won't get any better! And despite what people say, you don't really get used to it.
