1. S&S -- usually very good, and the only place that will provide you a loaner (they have to, given how far away they are). They kept my car, a 1987 900, in pretty good shape from about 120k-220k miles. Only "second guessing" I had wih them was one instance where the shifter was incredibly stiff; they claimed they would have to drop the transmission and probably recondition it to make it better, but I knew that the same problem had been cured in the past with some lubing.. AutoScandia took care of that issue and it was right as rain.
2. AutoScandia -- my first experience with them was good, but later experiences were not. They saved me from spending a fortune at S&S on a transmission. They replaced some brake pads and the calipers prompty seized -- a common problem to 900's of that vintage but I hadn't had the problem for a long time. I brought it back and they claimed there was no problem (despite the fact that I could smell hot brake for weeks, which they claimed was what the brakes did when new). Later S&S told me the capilers were definitiely sticking and showed me.
3. Swedish Motor Cars -- meh. One significant service done there, they called and told me the car was ready and when I showed up they were still "working on it". I had to wait for another 2 hours. Another service and they pulled off a vacuum hose by accident. Just didn't like them very much, their customer relations needed work.
4. Scandinavian Import Service Center (Rockville MD) -- pricey but high quality work, as far as I could tell.
