the FZ4's were JUNK!! My brother had them on his 98 900 SET & they just sucked :( My experience their grip was poor no matter if the roads are dry or wet & like you state they wear out much earleir then their tread indicates. I actually thought their wet capabilities was the worst tire that I have ever used. Dry like you stated they would break loose quickly at the limit & that limit was pretty slow :( We also had problems with the tire wearing poor causing the tread blocks to cup which I think caused the noise & crappy traction. FZ4's = junk
With just about all products when they come out with a new product it's a improvement & not a step back. The 4's are suppose to use the same compound that the T1s used & from my experience with the 4's at a roadcoarse I would agree with that. The problem I experience was the tread fell apart & chunked bad which I think was due to the tread design. I didn't want to take the all season tires to the track but I had no choice.
I do agree though, for $155 a tire I would look elsewhere. I payed under $400 a set installed on my viggen & for that price I will definantly get them again :)
