What about the fact that these questions are not, in any way related? Even # 2, which has the closest ties to #1, does not, in any way, suggest that it's the same fridge. It could say, "How do you put an elephant into THE fridge?" You see, I could have a pair of refrigerators. Heck, since I'm not supposed to assume that the refrigerators are of a size and shape that might represent any fridge ever made, can't I assume that I have as many as I'd like? One tall one, for the giraffe, and one wide one for the elephant? And about that meeting, why would my chilled elephant go and meet with the Lion King? There seems to be a disconnect, in my mind, between putting elephants into refrigerators and The Lion King. One's imaginative fiction, the other is animated fiction.
Okay, can you tell that I got the first question wrong? I did. I was able to manage to the get the others right only after I realized I was supposed to remove myself from my learned experiences and my understanding of phrasing which suggested to me that the questions were unrelated.
In all seriousness, thanks for the cool quiz, Ozzie. Good stuff.
I once asked my (~4 year-old) cousin how much she thought a candy bar costs (she really wanted a candy bar), and she replied, "$100.00." I then asked her how much a new car might cost... "$100.00" came the reply. I think it's great, the perception of the world that kids hold. Absolutely beautiful in its simplicity!
Cheers,
Peter
