Hello all,

We have a couple of extra dollars from our recent nuptials that I was interested in opening an investment account with.

There is a stock I have been researching for awhile, as well having wanted to actually get "in" the market for some time now, outside of 401K, work options, etc. In school (now several years ago), I studied investments, portfolio analysis, etc., so I am just looking for opinions on what you are using, and how you like them.

I see Ameritrade has free trades for 45 days, but that is keeping the account with them for 9 months+. eTrade has 100 free trades, reimbursed in 8 weeks. Someone has suggested to look for the "deals" but any thoughts?

The account will be funded with not much more than the minimum ("play" money), and we will strictly look to trade stocks and some mutual funds.

I searched, but the most recent discussion was about a year ago. Thanks in advance!
