The warranty has expired, and my future daughter-in-law sent in the registration card as required (the company showed her as the owner and wondered why I was calling).
I'll try the link you provided.
I can get the bottom off the unit but it is not clear how everything is installed. The heating chamber is located near the very top, the water pump is below that, the circiut board is mounted edgewise off to the side, with no clear signs of how these components are accessed.
My guess is that the unit is not designed to be serviced - by anyone! My plan is to disconnect the surgical hose atteched to the output of the water pump. With this removed I may be able to drain the heating chamber. With the chamber empty the machine may initiate a new priming cycle. If so, I now have a means to introduce the recommended de-scaling solution into the tank.
And then I get to do it all over again so the coffee brewer is bone dry for their move to DC at the end of the month!
