As for GM's "viable alternatives", I couldn't disagree more. The cadillac is ugly at a premium price; why they need to maintain the boxy american holdover look from the 70's is beyond me. And as far as the CTS wagon is concerned, it seems clear to me that they took the sportcombi, added a few grand to the sticker and middle-americanized it. The front end is heinous, the d-pillars are oversized and hinder sight-lines, and the interior is blocky like all american designs. The malibu, however, is a definite honda alternative; it's a bland bore. If you want to blend in at the mall, go get yourself a mali-honda-yota.
Caarma "As for GM not making products people want to buy or that their quality is bad, the fact that they have loyal customers and have sold more vehicles than any other in the U.S. means that those arguments are unfounded."
BS. People are sheep and do not know any better. They feel the same kind of patriotic/company loyalty to GM that you are promoting, so they never seek out the best vehicle option.
Telling people they should feel sorry for GM employees and buy GM is a nice sentiment. But why stop there? Why not mandate it for the sake of the country? Everyone should HAVE to own a US car. Save America, buy American. I would have NO problem supporting this ideology IF there were a viable option. Oh, but that option is going away with the demise of Saab.
