I saw in the newspaper today an article about Pontiacs and Saturns. GM has offered $6500 cash back if you buy one. Now, they are offering dealers $7000 if they transfer new cars to themselves as rentals or loaners. Technically, they are used and GM can count them as sales immediately without having to wait for the public to buy them as the dealers would be the buyers. In reality, the dealer has an incentive to get rid of them.
The article says that a Pontiac G3 with MSRP of $17,000 could sell for in the 8 thousands.
Saab doesn't have such incentives yet. My Saab dealer has only 2 2009's on their website. In real life, I don't know as dealer websites can be outdated.
