I know you've already made your harness, but a little cleaner method would be to use a 2 position fuse tap (available at many auto stores) and simply not put a fuse in the position, then solder wires to the fuse tap. I've had little blade connectors like you used come loose in the past when I've done similar type things in other cars. You could also pull the fuse box out and tap directly into the wire feeding the fuse socket using a 3M Scotchlock connector, or break the wire and solder a 2-way split into it. I've done that on two 9-5's in the past. All things considered though, it looks like you came up with a fairly clean system.
The other option is you could have used an OEM switch and tapped into it's contacts (the challenge then is using a switch with a symbol printed on it that makes sense, which is hard to do), or put a generic switch like you used inside a Saab switch blank. I've done that before several times on the 9-5 and many C900's and it looks pretty good if you do it right. As others have also said, a momentary pushbutton should do the same thing if you hold it "in" for a second in order to break the connection. Or, if you really wanted to get elaborate, a switch that activates a time delay relay for "x" seconds.
