I found an quarter this morning on the alley in front of my house, can someone borrow me $0.75, I’d like to buy Saab.
In the last couple of weeks Saab was sold and closed a dozen of times, if it is to believe the rumors. Now, another one comes to say that Saab will be sold for… yes, you heard right $1.
Saab automaker could be sold for the symbolic sum of one U.S. dollars, if an investor interested in buying the brand manages to convince the General Motors Group (GM) that has a long-term sustainable plan for the Swedish company, according to British newspaper The Times. Even though GM has begun the process of liquidation of Saab, the group still discusses, with several potential investors, including the Formula 1 boss, Bernie Ecclestone, said the group’s European division president, Nick Reilly.
Anyhow it is estimated that the closing of Saab will cost General Motors about $75 million – $150 million.
Genie investment fount, located in Luxemburg, in a collaboration with Ecclestone, made a Wednesday a new bid for Saab’s takeover, and now everybody waits for GM’s reacton said the businessman Lars Carlstrom, coordinator of the joint offer of the two investors.
Earlier this week, general manager of GM, Ed Whitacre, said that General Motors will be more than pleased to sell the Swedish company for $450 million, and now it seems that the Americans will apply a discount of sell Saab for $399,999,999.
