Got lucky today!

Started by drilling the hole for the ez out with the bracket on the car. Good so far. I used the ez out that that gave me some safety room in case the hole was not straight. I didn't want to risk damaging the threads. I started before I read SWEDECAR's recommendation to use the largest size. So as predicted the ez out broke. Oh you know what!

Looked things over and then banged on the caliper bracket to move it far enough to get the rotor off. The rotor came off which allowed removal of the caliper bracket. The resulting bent splash guard is an easy fix.

At this point there was about a 1/2" of the bolt exposed. On to the bench vice and MAPP gas. I got it cherry red then tried to move it with the vice grip. Still no movement. The easy out was still in the bolt but with the bracket off the car now I had access to the front of the bolt. Drilled the hole for the larger ez out, Then punched out the broken ez out. Drilled from the original side and used the larger ez out and it came out! I never thought I'd see that happen! I was ready to order a new caliper bracket and bolt.

On to the question. The only bolt I could find is rated 8.8. (Thank you ACE hardware!) I looked up the rating in the Pocket Pal reference book and it looks like it will be strong enough but I have to ask the experts? It's an M12 with 1.25 thread. Should this be OK?
