You have what, 17" rims on the Aero? Width, section height and rolling diameter are all real different than my 15" or 16" tires.

The 205/55x16 that are my summer tires on the 9K are pretty quiet, but made some rumbly noise in heavy rain when new. Lots of grip with good breakaway and hookup characteristics, even on the track. To be honest, I didn't like them a whole lot when they were new, but after a couple thousand miles they felt about right. Were superb on a wet skid pad at driving school and on a dry track. I think the high-demands of school and the track use helped them a bit!

Try playing with your tire pressures. A couple pounds more in front is normal on a 9-5, but worth fiddling with. Your rear end shouldn't feel floaty just because of tires, IMHO. Rear alignment or softening shocks could be some of the issue.
