Couple things:
That SL350 is pretty old - are you sure the 4-pin connector on it isn't a PCI-E 4-pin vs. an ATX EPS 4-pin?
Check the docs on the motherboard - the EPS connector is for powering the CPU, and many boards that have the 8-pin require it. If it will operate with only 4 pins, you need to check the docs on the PS for output on that connector and verify it against the requirements for the CPU. That power supply is borderline for most modern CPUs.
