whoever they are.
You start by being able to see edge of driver's side of car, when you have your head against the side window.
For passenger side, I don't worry about centerline of car, I just lean that way as far as comfortable, then set.
Perhaps then tweak a little more to eliminate blind spots when I can check in a parking lot.
