I've had my current insurance policy for over ten years, which includes my two Saab 9000s (96 & 97), and my wife's 2005 Honda. The policy is coming up due at the end of July, and I got this weird phone call from the insurance company asking me if any of the cars have modifications. They explained that it's standard practice for them to check this out before each renewal; in reality, they've never asked me this before. I answered that both Saabs have stainless exhausts, and one has an automatic torque biasing differential and an upgraded intercooler. A few days later I got a phone message informing me that only the policy for the Honda will be renewed! So, apparently, they've decided not to insure any car that has ANY non-oem parts on it. Has anyone else had an experience like this?
