I used to go there with my Dad (an Electrical/Radar Engineer by trade) all the time on Saturday mornings. We would take his "battery of the month" club cards down as an excuse to go putz around. At least that is what we told my mom. I was cleaning out his house recently (he passed away) and I found old parts lists from Tandy that he had all marked up to build the alarm system in our house. Pretty neat. Even remember the 100 in 1 electronics kits they used to sell.

Remember picking up capacitors, indicator led's, CB parts (still have my Realistic CB and 200 channel scanner). Guys that worked there knew their stuff and were excited when my Dad and I walked in there as they would pick eachother's brains for hours on end.

I swear I had this conversation with a friend of mine maybe 2 years ago. I think it is a statement of the times where nobody can build or fix anything anymore...we just buy "new" to replace whatever is broken.

So sad....
