An American iPad abroad... Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Fri, 1 Jul 2011 10:14:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So I'm heading for Sweden & Finland in four weeks time, and I'm considering taking an iPad with me. I understand that they 3G iPads are sold "carrier unlocked", so you can pop in any telco's micro SIM and you're good to go.
I'm trying to navigate through websites and forums to figure out just where I should go in Sweden to get the SIM & plan (I only need a month, or 2 weeks, really). Telia or 3? Someone else? Should I "roam" in Finland with the Swedish SIM, or buy a different SIM in Finland (I'm spending about a week in each...).
I know I could just use WiFi, but I may not always be near a hotspot. Lots of driving to be done on the International Saab Pre-Tour!
So, if anyone has taken an iPad (or, indeed, any other data device) from outside Sweden and used the 3G Data, I'd like to hear about it!
Thanks!
