I used a 1/2" electric ir rated for 230 ft-lbs. It was good for lugnuts but it wouldnt break the hard stuff (axle nuts, crank pulley bolts, subframe bolts, ect). Needless to say, I recently upgraded to an air powered ir rated for 400 ft-lbs. The air gun is definately in a diffent league but that might be because its rated for double the torque. Moral of the story, electric is good for removing lug nuts or those stubbern bolts (like brake rotor screws/ pulley bolts) but you'll need a air ir or a really powerful electric if you want to remove everything.
