or should there be a government-assigned nanny riding with you everywhere you drive? That will be jobs program. LOL.

Out of all the distractions listed, the incidental use of cellphone is actually one of the most benign as it may actually help relieve anxiety and driver stress as he can call ahead on being slightly late or answering phone call without having to rush to the next exit.

I entirely agree with your other post that the badly constructed law is being written due to political demogoguery and "low-hanging fruit" phenomenon. IMHO, if we want the get the irresponsible chatboxes who can not handle their car while talking, rules should be made to punish them after accidents (which prove their incapacity and abuse), not draconian apriori pre-crime laws, especially since use of cell phone is not even statistically likely to lead to accident. This law may well increase accident, as cellphone users now have to be on the lookout for cops, a new distraction.
