I like it a lot. Pretty consistent 22 mpg around town with my heavy right foot. Pounces off the line like a bat outta hell. It's been great off road with all the torque coming on at 1,800 rpm. Where it really shines though is on the highway. It turns just 1,700 RPM at 64 mph, and eats up the miles. It definitely is a diesel and is not nearly as refined as other modern diesels, but then again it's a Jeep.
I have been disappointed with the quality/fit and finish. It just doesn't have the built-to-last feel that my Saab and Bimmer have. Also, and no surprise here, the ergonomics are terrible and the seats are just OK - oddly enough, I know I am really going to miss the headrests from the Saab. I would not have been interested in this vehicle if it didn't have a diesel. I wish Toyota diesels were imported to the U.S.
When I find a buyer, soon to be Saabless...
